Sprout Supplies – Seeds:
I ordered the Sproutman Beginners Dozen – one pound each of alfalfa, Brassica Blend, clover, Crunchy Bean Mix, green snow peas, green lentils, red lentils, mung, radish, and sunflower. Also 4oz. each garlic and broccoli. All Sproutman’s® Organic Sprouting Seeds.
Note: I found a wide selection of sprouting seeds also at my local health food store.
Books:
Sprouts the Miracle Food Book – The Complete Guide to Sprouting. I am referencing this book a lot!

Wheatgrass Nature’s Finest Medicine – The Complete Guide to Using Grass Foods. The benefits of wheatgrass juice is nothing short of astounding.

Sprout Supplies – Sprouters:
Sprout Garden – This is one of the most economical ways to get into sprouting. You put your seeds in, rinse and drain. Then each day spray twice per day.
Note: I bought mine online but just saw it at my local health food store.

The Freshlife Automatic Sprouter – I ordered this and the extra tray. The machine is very quiet. It has a soothing sound as the water flows from the sprinkler. Very easy to change the water. It doesn’t take up much counter space – a huge plus.
Update: I stopped using this because it was hard to control the amount of water for the different seeds. Some of the seeds (broccoli and fenugreek especially) don’t like too much water. I now use a combination of the wheatgrass grower trays and covers with the Sprout Garden. I put the Garden Sprouter inside the “greenhouse” without the green lid. I spray the seeds twice a day. It is working great.

Sproutman’s® Soil or Soil-Free Wheatgrass Grower- I ordered this and the extra tray. It is easy to grow but takes a little time. It takes about 5 minutes per tray per day for rinsing and draining.
NOTE: You will need a juicer that works with wheatgrass. Don’t order this unless you have an appropriate juicer. Wheatgrass is not something you’ll want to eat plain.

Other – Juicer:
To juice my wheatgrass I use the Solo Star II Juicer – It not only does a great job with juicing wheatgrass it works well with fruits and vegetables. It is very quiet, easy to use and easy to clean up. I love it.

Healthy Lifestyle Tips:
Grow as much of your food as possible yourself. Not only for the financial benefit but also for your health. Get your kids involved. They’ll love to see their seeds turn into yummy sprouts.
